When cyanoacrylate is used to evolve fingerprints, the relative cure rate and related cross-linking of the polymer is affected by the chemical composition of the fingerprint itself. As a result, the relative ability of each fumed print to accept color is slightly different.
Green Thumb exploits this difference by providing a water based color formulation that will evolve a color ranging from blue to fluorescent yellow depending on the print itself. When use in conjunction with typical photo color masking, this difference can be enough in some cases to actually distinguish to intermixed prints from different sources.
Even where differentiation of source is not an issue, Green Thumb provides an excellent colorant detectable with visible and UV lights.
